The positioner is for pivoting of the drilling tool of a pneumatic or hydraulic hammer, especially for an excavator grab. It is pivoted from the vertical to the sides through 90 degrees, by alternately reversible hydraulic piston-cylinder units. There is an additional rapid lowering device with a pedal brake. The hydraulic units (15,16) are fastened to the rear upper strut profile on either the left or right side. When moved in and out, they engage on the bearing bolts (14) of the working unit (12), which are pivoted together, so that this, together with the suspended tool, can be pivoted to either side.
