PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color imaging system in which gap and overlap are eliminated from partial images being formed by adjacent recording heads at the time of printing with second and subsequent colors. SOLUTION: The imaging system comprises two recording heads 1, 2 arranged on the upstream side, and a recording head 5 arranged on the downstream side. Recording head groups 1, 2 on the upstream side are secured to a supporting member 3 while a recording head group 5 on the downstream side is secured to a supporting member 6 movable with respect to the supporting member 3. The supporting member 3 is movable with respect to a member 20 oscillating about a shaft 25. A section 9 for detecting resist marks 8 printed on the opposite sides of a recording member 30 is disposed on the upstream side of the recording heads 1, 2. An operating section 10 detects oblique advance of the recording member 30 based on information received from the detecting section 9 and controls the position of the supporting member 6, the position of the supporting member 3, and the orientation of the oscillating member 20 based on the detection results. |
