The motor (7) used for rotating the drum (4) to unwind the hose or cable (5) is controlled by a system comprising a rotation detector (8), timer and motor control device. Rotation of the drum and/or motor is monitored by the sensor and the information received is used to control the timer for defining a time period. If any rotation in the unwind direction (AR) is detected during this time period, the motor control unit is used to commence rotation of the motor in the wind-up direction (UR). The motor is regulated so that rotation in the wind-up direction is not commenced if no rotation of the motor in the unwind direction is recovered over this time period. |
