An apparatus for controlling travel of an unmanned conveyance car which can travel on a site where a travel path changes in position, without interfering with a moving rack installed. Thus the apparatus comprises a label (5), on which a code representative of a present position or a travel distance and a mark representative of an information for detection of a position relative to an unmanned conveyance car (4), a label reader (12a to 12d) for reading respective information, a data processor (20) for outputting at least one of a present position and a travel distance data of the unmanned conveyance car (4) on the basis of the respective read information, and calculating and outputting a three-dimensional relative distance between the unmanned conveyance car (4) and the label (5), and a travel controller (11) for controlling speed, steering and stoppage of the unmanned conveyance car (4) for travelling based on the three-dimensional relative distance and the present position or travel distance data.
