摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a distance of observation with high accuracy to render the same angle of visibility as that of a photographing mode by transmitting a photographing surface size of a camera, te distance between the photographing surface and a center of a lens and the information on the lens focal length respectively after adding them together. SOLUTION: A parallax estimation means 2 calculates a parallax for every pixel from a right and a left image which are decoded by an image decoder means 1. That is, both upper and lower limit numbers for pixels of parallax are decided, based on a the position relationship among a depth value of the nearest point, the depth value of the farthest point and the width value of the congestion point in an image. An average parallax arithmetic means 3 calculates an average of parallax calculated by the means 2. The image shift means 4a and 4b shift the images, so as to display the depth point having the average parallax obtained by the means 3 in the same depth as a display screen. Thus, it is possible to display without producing eye fatigue caused on the display side, by adding together the information on both nearest and farthest points in an image when a multi-viewpoint image is transmitted.
