PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of controlling a human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection, containing a specific functional substance to promote the infection of a cell with the HIV. SOLUTION: This composition comprises fibronectin or a functional substance which is a fragment of a fibronectin as an active ingredient. The composition comprises especially a heparin bond site of fibronectin such as a polypeptide of formula I, or a fibroblast growth factor, a functional equivalent of the factor or a polypeptide of formula II containing the factor or the functional equivalent of the factor. In order to control the functional substance participating in the infection, a substance such as a fibronectin antibody having specifically bonding activity against the functional substance is used. The composition is useful for treating HIV infection. |
