摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transferring material, with which enough color reproduction region and image preserving properties can be obtained without after-heating treatment and which is suitable for heat transfer recording with after-chelating coloring matter, and a sublimation heat transferring method excellent in the preserving properties of secondary colors and achromatic colors. SOLUTION: This image receiving element has an image receiving layer containing a metal ion-containing compound, a binder and a low melting point compound with low compatibility to the binder on a support for performing heat transfer recording by laminating the ink layer of a thermal transfer recording material having the ink layer containing chelatable heat-diffusible coloring matter of the image receiving layer. The heat transfer recording is performed by laminating the image receiving layer of the image receiving element having the image receiving layer containing metal ion-containing compound on the support to the ink layers of a plurality of the heat transfer recording materials, each of which has the ink layer containing the chelatable heat-diffusible coloring matter successively. In this case, the heat transfer is performed from the heat transfer recording materials in the ascending order of chelating rate, number of coordinations and chelate forming speed in the heat diffusible coloring matter.
