PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the driving force of a linear driving device by driving an actuator in one direction by attracting salient poles by cyclically exciting magnetic poles two poles by two poles by energizing the exciting coils with a position-detecting signal obtained, when the position of the actuator is detected. SOLUTION: Exciting coils 6a, 6b, 6c, 7a, 7b, and 7c excite magnetic poles 3a, 3b, 4a, and 4b in N and S-poles. The widths of salient poles 10a and 10b on both sides of an actuator 10 are set at twice the widths of the magnetic poles, and the clearance between the poles 10a and 10b is set at the widths of the magnetic poles. When the coils 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b are cyclically energized in the order of 6c, 7c→6b, 7b→6a, 7a→6c, and 7c→, by controlling the energization of the coils 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b by detecting the positions of the salient poles 10a and 10b with position-detecting coils 5a, 5b, and 5c, the salient poles 10a, 10b, 10c, and 10d of the actuator are attracted to the magnetic poles, and the actuator 10 is driven in the direction shown by the arrow A. When the coils are energized in the reverse order, the actuator 10 is driven in the reverse direction, and only the required driving torque can be utilized. |
