PURPOSE:To break bond between metal particles with a resin and to obtain coated metal particles manufacturing refractory having excellent corrosion resistance, compression strength, etc., by blending a resin solution comprising urethane resin and a solvent with a metal particle group, drying and curing. CONSTITUTION:A urethane resin is diluted with an ester-based solvent such as ethyl acetate not containing active hydrogen to prepare a resin solution. A low viscosity urethane resin solution having 200cPs/25 deg.C is preferable as the resin solution. Then, a metal particle group and the urethane resin solution are blended at room temperature by a blender such as high-speed mixer or universal type mixer, dried and cured. Consequently, bond between the coated metal particles is broken to give metal particles coated with urethane resin. Refractory blended with the coated metal particles has no fear of reaction with water and hydrogen evolution followed by the reaction even by blending with water and has characteristics satisfying compression strength and hot flexural strength, to say nothing of corrosion resistance. |
