PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily identify coins by discriminating the authenticity and the kinds of the supplied coins based on coin discrimination data of an address map into which data showing the kinds of the coins are written when the coins pass through a passage route. SOLUTION: An A/D conversion part 56 A/D-converts a reception signal obtained in a reception coil by the driving of a transmission coil. Address value discrimination means 54, 55, 57 and 58 detect A/D conversion values outputted from an A/D conversion part 56 at the specified phase of a transmission signal and at the timing of a phase detached from it byπ/2, and the respective A/D conversion values are set to be the address signals of an X-axis and a Y-axis. A coin reception range reference processing part 60 reads the address map into which data on the kinds of the coins are written from the address signals obtained from the address value discrimination means 54, 55, 57 and 58 when the coins are made to pass through the passage route. Then, the authenticity and the kind of the supplied coins are discriminated based on discrimination data of the coins shown in the address map.
