The radio direction finder includes a rotary group antenna with an odd number of antenna elements. The antenna diameter D is selected using formula D <= ( lambda /2)/(sin( pi /M)sin( pi /2/M)). lambda is the smallest direction finder operation wavelength and M is the odd number of antenna elements. A large diameter enables high direction finding accuracy and low electromagnetic coupling of antenna elements.
