HUMIFICATION PROMOTING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To proceed the decomposition of organic materials with microorganism while suppressing the generation of hygienic vermin or uncomfortable vermin by compounding a humification promoting agent with an insecticidal component free from inhibiting effect on the growth of microorganisms active to decompose organic materials such as kitchen waste. SOLUTION: A powdery humification promoting component composed mainly of microorganisms is produced by adsorbing the culture liquid of microorganisms capable of decomposing kitchen waste to mineral powder. The insecticidal component to be used in the present agent is 2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropyl 3-phenoxybenzyl ether free from antibacterial action on the microorganisms. The objective humification promoting agent is produced by compounding the humification promoting component with 2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropyl 3- phenoxybenzyl ether in an amount of 0.01-0.1% based on the whole agent. The decomposition of kitchen waste by the microorganisms is proceeded by scattering the humification promoting agent to kitchen waste to promote the humification while suppressing the generation of maggot by the insecticidal component.
