PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a groove shape of a roller with a groove while time is being saved. SOLUTION: A shape measuring machine 44 is mounted to the lower surface of the work feed table 28 of the wire saw by way of a X-Y moving mechanism 42. The X-Y moving mechanism 42 allows the shape measuring machine 44 to be moved to the X and Y directions, and the shape measuring machine 44 is moved by the mechanism to the position of a roller with a groove subjected to measurement. When measurement is made, the work feed table 28 is lowered down by the shape measuring machine 44 to the height capable of measuring the shape of the roller with a groove. The measuring machine 44 is then moved to the measuring position of the roller with a groove 18A subjected to measurement. Detargent is injected out of a cleaning nozzle 72 while the shape measuring machine 44 is being moved, and concurrently compressed air is blown out of an air blow nozzle 74, so that the position subjected to measurement is thereby cleaned and dried. After the shape measuring machine 44 is returned so as to be moved to the measurement starting position, the groove shape of the roller with a roller 18A is then measured. |
