A vehicle safety window pane fastening, quickly separable by pyrotechnic means, has an adhesive layer 3 which fixes the window pane 2 in an associated aperture of the motor vehicle and which is connected operatively to a pyrotechnic means 5, in such a way that the holding function of the said adhesive layer 3 is cancelled as a result of ignition of the pyrotechnic means 5.
