ROUGH AND FINE CERAMIC COMPACT BASED ON MAGNESIA AND/OR CALCINED DOLOMITE AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fire resistance and stress resistance of a rough and fine ceramic compact based on magnesia and/or calcined dolomite by incorporating fraction grains of specified calcium zirconate into the compact. SOLUTION: Magnesia and/or calcined dolomite is mixed with ZrO2 and CaO so that the molar ratio of CaO to ZrO2 is regulated to 0.5-1.1 and the resultant mixture is compacted and fired to obtain the objective fireproof rough and fine ceramic compact contg. 1.5-19wt.% fraction grains of calcium zirconate having >=0.3μm grain diameter.
