Automobile bonnet secured to bodywork via hinges

The automobile bonnet has an electrical connection with the body work provided at each of the hinges securing the bonnet to the bodywork via a contact element, e.g. a cable (11), fitting through the cooperating hinge halves (4,5) or by a friction contact between the latter. Each of the hinge halves may be provided with a reception sleeve (8,9) for the contact cable the ends of the sleeves having complementary interfitting formations for providing a pivot pin function.
