The present invention relates to a flame-retardant, fume-suppressing and low acidity polymeric composition for insulation of electrical conduits, and cables coating, which is based on a mixture of vinyl polychloride and flame-retarding, acidity reducing agents based on calcium and sodium carbonate, and fume suppressors, characterized in that it also includes a thermal stabilizing agent such as lead dibasic phthalate; a primary flame-retarding agent of antimony trioxide and/or barium methaborate; a second flame-retarding agent of magnesium hydroxide, or a mixture thereof with primary retardants, fume-reducing agents such as a zinc or zinc borate inorganic complex, and at least a lubricating agent such as calcium stearate.
