PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device, which can record/reproduce the recording media having the different recording method without enlarging the scale of an optical system. SOLUTION: The space of an optical path to an objective lens 2 is separated, and respective special semiconductor lasers 5 and 6 are switched in correspondence with the recording methods of a recording medium 1. Furthermore, the space of an optical path other than a freely rotatable reflecting mirror and the objective lens 2 is separated. The respective special optical paths are selected by switching the supporting angle of the above described reflecting mirror in correspondence with the recording method of the recording medium 1. Furthermore, the space of the optical path other than the objective lens 2 is separated. Thus, the respective special optical paths are selected by rotating a pedestal in correspondence with one recording method of one recording medium 1. |
