PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enter a king pin in the neck part of a hitch plate so as to surely notify a driver of the locked and fixed state of a locking mechanism by providing a trailer proximity sensor, a king pin sensor and an instructing means for a connection state between the lock sensor of the locking mechanism and a hitch. SOLUTION: A control circuit 210 outputs a control signal through a line 224 to the electric control system of a tractor in response to a sensor output. A diagnosing circuit 230 is connected to a control circuit Q10 through lines 232, 234, 236, 238, 240 and 242 so as to monitor the output signal levels of sensors 210, 220 and 222 and, by monitoring the output of the control circuit 210 through a line 224, the diagnosing circuit 230 determines the correct operation of an electronic connection control system. If the system is not correctly operated, the diagnosing circuit 230 turns on and off a system abnormality instruction LED 246 hard so as to notify a driver of a system abnormality.
