Sample analyser with unit to reduce halogenated compounds in waste

An analysis system is claimed with a unit to reduce the halogenated organic compound (AOX) pollutants in the fluid waste. The system comprises (a) an analyser that functions by adding reagents to samples, giving rise to waste containing AOX; (b) means to supply the fluid waste to a fluid channel; (c) a UV lamp; (d) a tube of UV-transparent material linked to the fluid channel and irradiated by the lamp; and (e) a receptacle or outlet for the fluid. Also claimed is a method for reducing the AOX.
