1458404 Amino-diaryl sulphides PFIZER Inc 25 Jan 1974 [20 March 1973] 03691/74 Heading C2C Compounds of the formula wherein R 1 is H or CH 3 and R 2 is Cl or CH 3 ; are obtained by contacting p-chlorophenyl sulphenyl chloride with a compound of the formula wherein Pro is acetyl, benzoyl or p-tosyl in the presence of an inert reaction solvent at a temperature of 25‹ to 110‹ C., and thereafter removing the group Pro by hydrolysis. The reaction may be carried out in the presence or absence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst. The hydrolysis may be acid or base catalysed. Examples are given which illustrate the process. |
