PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a coil window small, and realize a magnetic head having a high recording density, by obtaining a composite metallic wire having a diameter of 15μm or less, and more increasing tensil strength for winding work. SOLUTION: A composite metallic wire is constituted of inner and outer layers 1 and 3 having nearly circular cross section shapes respectively. The material of the inner layer 1 is constituted of any of metal quality, carbon quality, or organic quality, and the outer layer 3 is constituted of material having a resistivity of 6×10<-8>Ω.m or less. The composite metallic wire has a diameter of 15μm or less, and an electric resistance of 300Ω/m or less. An insulating coating 5 is provided on the outer peripheral side of the outer layer 3, to be adopted as a composite metallic wire having a tensil strength of 20g or more. This composite metallic layer is used as a coil to form a composite type magnetic head. |
