PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically decide a line feed point which considers the reading easiness of line end/line head parts and that of the whole line and is easiest to read totally. SOLUTION: A processing objective line generating part 12 fetches character data for a prescribed number of characters from a document inputted from a document inputting part 10 to constitute a processing objective line. An evaluation value arithmetic part 14 obtains a line feed evaluation value at the time of line feed at each line feed candidate point in the processing objective line through the use of an evaluation function evaluating the reading easiness of the whole line and when the point is a line feed priority point registered in a line feed priority point DB(data base) 16 in addition, the part 14 reads a line feed evaluation correcting value from the line feed priority point DB 16 to correct the line feed evaluation value. This line feed evaluation corrected value is obtained by digitizing the improvement of reading easiness by line feed at the line feed priority point. The arithmetic part 14 decides a point with a best line feed evaluation value on the processing objective line to be the line feed point. |
