The present invention relates to a process and a device for operation of energetic gas turbines which operate in consumer zones at external temperatures of from -5 DEG C to +5 DEG C to improve efficiency. In this process, heat is not removed, as in the prior art, from the gas compressor (3) as the heat requirement in the entire suction system rises, but in turn firstly the waste gas heated by the generator (2) is used to heat the suction air in the suction shaft (12, 12'), and subsequently additional heat i.e. the heat occurring at the end of the heat cycle, is removed from a waste heat unit (8). When additional heat is required it can be removed from the compressor (3) via a by-pass (20).
