A cable dispenser comprises a floor-engaging base 3,4,5,6, and an elongate member 18 upon which one or more reels of cable may be supported such that the or each reel may rotate to allow cable to be withdrawn therefrom. The elongate member is mounted upon the base in such a way that the dispenser is movable between a collapsed condition Fig 1(not shown) in which the elongate member lies immediately adjacent the base and in which the dispenser is substantially flat and an erected condition in which the elongate member is supported in an elevated position relative to the base and in which the elongate member may support said one or more reels of cable. The base may include extensible legs 14,15, and the member 18 is preferably releasably attached to the ends of a U-shaped frame pivotted to the base. |
