PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reformer from being scaled up or the system structure complicated and to reform a raw fuel without lowering the energy efficiency of the entire fuel-cell system. SOLUTION: The methanol as a raw fuel is mixed with water, vaporized in a vaporizer 24 and supplied to a reformer 22 as a raw fuel gas. The reformer 22 is supplied with compressed air from an air tank 36, and the raw fuel gas is mixed with the compressed air in the reformer. The methanol as the raw gas is oxidized to hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and the methanol is simultaneously steam-reformed to hydrogen and carbon dioxide. At this time, since the heat necessary to the endothermic reforming reaction is sufficed by the heat generated in the oxidation of the methanol, a heat source for supplying the heat required in the reforming reaction need not be provided to the reformer 22. |
