PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a carbonization step without any problems in security due to discharge of CO2 or leak by feeding an active gas into a carbonaceous material fed into a reactional chamber in a furnace, heating the active gas in a noncontact state and actively reacting the active gas with the carbonaceous material. SOLUTION: A rotating and driven roller 22 is rotated in the direction of X and a rotary kiln 1 is rotated through a pair of cylindrical protruding materials 12. An AC current is passed through an induction coil 4 on the outer periphery of the kiln 1 to generate a magnetic field around the coil 4. The kiln 1 is heated in a noncontact state by the Joule heat with a current according to the electromagnetic induction and a reaction chamber 7 is heated with radiant heat of the kiln 1. A carbonaceous material 2 having 900-1100m<2> /g surface area is then fed through a hopper 14 into the kiln 1 and heated at 750-950 deg.C. An inert gas 3 is fed through an introduction pipe 5 into the reactional chamber 7 and heated at 750-950 deg.C. The active reaction thereof with the carbonaceous material 2 is further carried out for 40-90min and then discharged through a screw 10 in the lower part from a discharge pipe 9. |
