The present invention refers to the application of non-peptidic bradyquinine antagonists for preparing medicaments for the treatment of chronic and fibrogenetic hepatic diseases (hepatic cirrhosis and hepatic fibrosis), acute hepatic diseases, and preventing complications, especially for the prophylaxis and treatment of portal hypertonias, decompensation phenomena, such as ascites, edemas formation, hepatorenal syndrome, hypertensors gastropathies and colopathies, splenomegaly, as well as hemorrhagic complications in gastrointestinal tract due to portal hypertonia, collateral circulation and hyperaemia, and of a cardiopathy as a consequence of a chronic hyperdinamic circulatory situation, and the consequences derived therefrom.
