PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize drive control of a stepping motor which is optimized for application environment in a stepping motor drive control apparatus for driving and controlling a stepping motor which is driven as an engine control means. SOLUTION: A stepping motor drive control apparatus for driving and controlling a stepping motor 26 to drive a flow rate control valve 23 comprises a battery sensor 45 for detecting a battery voltage BAT of a battery 46, a water temperature sensor 13 for detecting a cooling water temperature THW, a driving direction judging means for judging the driving direction of the stepping motor 26 and a drive frequency setting means for setting the upper limit value of the stepping motor drive frequency depending on the detected battery voltage BAT and cooling water temperature THW. The drive frequency setting means sets, when the stepping motor 26 is driven is the load reducing direction, the upper limit value of the stepping motor drive frequency to a large value and sets, when the stepping motor is driven in the load increasing direction, the upper limit value of the stepping motor drive frequency to the value lower than that when the stepping motor is driven in the load reducing direction. |
