Automotive water pipe connected to radiator by hose with collar

A water tank forming part of an automotive radiator has a pipe (1) connector (2) fitting. The pipe end incorporates a projecting collar (3) which locates in the surrounding fitting recess and is retained by a holding device. The holding device is formed by a sleeve (5) whose inner diameter (d) is smaller than the outer diameter of the collar (3) but smaller than the outer diameter (R) of the pipe. The collar is surrounded by e.g. a square plate which locates in a matching open-ended box with side-slits. The collar is rotated about its longitudinal axis enabling the plate corners to locate in the receiving slots.
