Nucleic acids encoding human IL-1 gamma , and purified IL-1 gamma proteins and fragments thereof are provided. Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, both anti-IL-1 gamma antibodies and anti-idiotypic antibodies which may be agonists or antagonists of human IL-1 gamma , are also provided. Methods of using the compositions for both diagnostic and therapeutic utilities are also provided, together with antagonists and receptors of human IL-1 gamma .
