<p>The condensate drain comprises a cylindrical metal housing with internal threading in the upper section. In the lower, smaller section, the bore is also internally threaded, to receive a conduit. A metal cap shaft screws into the upper section of the housing. A tapping is provided for an external conduit and a bore narrowed to its inner end face, and giving into crossed grooves cut across that face. A circular wicking disc with central hole is seats and fits in the upper bore of the housing. A circular baffle disc rests on top of the wicking disc, fitting with slight clearance in the bore and pressed by the cap shaft when the latter is screwed in. Preferably, the wicking disc is compressed in the housing; it is made of polypropylene or polyester. The baffle disc is metal. Low on the cap shaft a circumferential groove accommodates a sealing gasket.</p> |
