The position control for a hydraulic actuator cylinder (1) which is supplied with fluid from a distributor (2,9) has a control actuator (40) moving the required position of the movable rod (3,4) of the actuator or a rod (21,25) displaced by the actuator as a hydraulic control pressure (P) engages against a face (19,38) of the slide(9) of the distributor to exert, on the slide, a force (F1). There is an elastic coupling spring (14,34) between the movable rod of the actuator or the rod displaced by the actuator on one part, and the slide and on the other part, to exert a force (f2) on the slide opposed to the first force.
