A sheet of toilet paper is formed with broken lines of slits (11,21,31,41) with the lines in two diagonally-opposite quarters of the sheet extending at right angles to the lines in the other two quarters. The slits make the paper decompose more readily in water when flushed and the two directions of the slits give enhanced strength if the sheet is folded into four layers before use. |
