PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently continue to heat the heat storage body of a heat storing type preheater at the time of separating a tundish without heating to heat the tundish as a heating object. SOLUTION: Two heat storing type preheaters 2A, 2B for heating the tundish 1 in non-oxidizing condition are connected with each other without passing through the tundish. An N2 shut-off valve 77 is closed and an air shut-off valve 76 is opened and the air is supplied to either one side of the heat storing type preheaters from an air supplying fan 16 instead of N2 to be essentially supplied and heated and flows. The heated air flowing from the other side is sucked and also, the heat storage body is heated with this heated air and combustion exhaust gas of combustion burners 5A, 5B and both gases are exhausted as exhaust gas. The operation is alternately repeated and the heat storage body in each of the heat storing type preheaters is alternately heated continuousely with convective heat transmission. |
