摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody cost effective and practicable soliton communication by combining optical fibers varying in dispersion characteristics as the transmission line for optical soliton communication, thereby constituting the transmission line having the characteristics to obviate the fissure of the soliton even if light intensity is increased and making the extention of relay intervals possible. SOLUTION: This transmission line is constituted to execute the relay transmission of the light soliton by using an optical amplifier arranged to abnormally disperse average values by the distances of the values of the groups velocity dispersion of the optical fibers. In such a case, the optical fiber F1 of the abnormal dispersion value is arranged in the first half part on the transmission side within the relay interval and the optical fiber F2 of the normal dispersion value is arranged in the second half part of the reception side.
