PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polyester fiber rapidly dispersible when kneaded into a molten rubber serving as a rubber modifier. SOLUTION: This non-crimped short-cut polyester fiber >=220 deg.C in melting point has the following characteristics: fiber length (L) is 1-10mm; single fiber fineness (d) is 5-40 denier; satisfying the following relationship: L<=-0.23+0.3d; dry heat shrinkage (y%) satisfies the relationship: 0.125x-21.25<=y<=0.125x-16.25 [(x) is dry shrinkage treatment temperature ( deg.C, 170<=x<=210)]; and lubricant pickup is 0.05-1.0wt.% the lubricant contains 10-40wt.% of a modified ether- polyester having a molecular weight of 1,000-100,000 and shown by the formula: R1 O-(-CO-R2 -COO-CH2 CH2 O-)a -[-CO-R2 -COO-(CH2 CH2 O)n -]b -R3 (R1 is H or CH2 CH2 OH; R2 is a dibasic acid residue; R3 is Cm H2m+1 ; (a)/(b) is (2:8) to (8:2))}.
