PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase color of a reversible thermosensitive recording medium at an especially high speed according to a wide range use condiction and environmental condition by keeping stable coloring properties and color erasing properties by a method wherein a phenol compound expressed by a specific formula as an electron acceptive compound is used. SOLUTION: A phenol compound expressed by the formula as an electron acceptive compound is used. In the formula, X indicates a bivalent group including a hetero atom, R expresses a 8 or higher C hydrocarbon which may have a substituent, and n indicates 1 to 3. R may be either an aliphatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and may be composed of both of them. The aliphatic hydrocarbon group may be of linear chain or branched, and may have unsaturated bond. As the substituent fitted to the hydrocarbon group, there are a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, etc. Further, in order to form colored recording, the compound is quenched after heating at a temperature wherein it is once mixed by being melted with a thermal head or the like. In order to erase the color, the compound is slowly cooled from the heated state, or heated to a temperature slightly lower than the coloring temperature. |
