The packaging panel (1), e.g. for use as a spacer between layers of articles stacked on a pallet, is made from an extruded polyolefin material such as polypropylene or polyethylene, and has a flap (2) along at least one edge and preferably along two parallel edges, bent over at an angle of less than 90 deg , and preferably 70-80 deg . The panel is cellular, with closed cells to prevent bacterial development, and the flaps can be angled either upwards or downwards, being bent over after heating.
