Disclosed is a method to control informing completion of cooking within a microwave oven. By the method, the door opening is checked if the cooking is completed. If the door has been opened, then the informing process is completed. If the door has not been opened, then time of the alarm period is counted. If the counted time is shorter than a set time, then the opening is checked again. If the counted time is not shorter than the set time, then alarming is performed. Thereby, the user can detect the time of cooking completion with convenience and accuracy.
