Longitudinally-welded copper alloy or aluminium tube is formed by a continuous welding plant with a seam guide (5), an induction coil (4) and welding rolls (4 which compress the weld seam in the welding zone. Welding rolls consist of a silicon nitride ceramic and are not water-cooled. Roll material has low thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion. |
