PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the use efficiency of a buffer memory. SOLUTION: A buffer memory 18 storing printing data has the memory capacity of a memory region storing the printing data corresponding to one band printed by movement in a main scanning direction and the number of regions set thereto corresponding to resolving power and a printing mode (color or white and black printing). Fort example, in the case of a color printing mode of resolving power of 720dpi, four (Y, M, C, K) memory regions corresponding to one band are formed corresponding to respective color printing heads and, in the case of a white and black printing mode of the same resolving power, four memory regions corresponding to four bands are formed. |
