PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the solution absorption and solution holding property of an electrolytic solution by a method wherein an inorganic fiber sheet is formed into an inorganic fiber sheet with a separator made to bind with a fluorine-containing polymer ion-exchanged resin. SOLUTION: An inorganic fiber sheet for a separator 2 use is made using an inorganic fiber sheet, which has a heat resistance and is made using a glass fiber of a small diameter, and the separator 2 is made to bind with a fluorine- containing polymer ion-exchanged resin, which is stable chemically and electrochemically and has a heat resistance, to facilitate ion migration in the separator 2. Moreover, the separator is given affinity to an electrolytic solution 4 by a terminal carboxyl group, a sulfonic group or their derivatives. Thereby, the solution absorption and solution holding property of the solution 4 are enhanced and the performance of the sheet is prevented from being deteriorated by a drying-up of the separator 2 and at the same time, the internal resistance of a high-strength and electrical double layered capacitor is reduced and the capacitor is made superior in a voltage holding property and can be stabilized extending over a long period of time. |
