The knife or dagger consists of a support handle of the cutting blade which can be moved from an open to an enclosed position. The handle (2) is formed of two parts (3,4) mounted pivoting around the axes (7,8) which extend perpendicular to the plane of the blade (1) at the exit opening of it. The parts of the handle can pivot between a closed position of the handle to an opened position. The displacement mechanism of the blade is by two links (10,11) each one articulating at the point (13,15;14,16) of the rear end of the blade and that part of the corresponding handle. These links are displaceable between a position of engagement in the corresponding part of the handle and a position of extension.
