ISOLATION AND SIGNAL FILTER TRANSFORMER

A transformer for electrical isolation and signal filtering is at least partially formed on a substrate (360). The transformer includes the following elements: holes (415, 425); ferrite core (450); primary spiral winding (410) with first metal traces (412, 414); and secondary spiral winding (420) with second metal traces (422, 424). The parasitic capacitance of the first metal traces (412, 414) and the magnetizing inductance of the primary winding (410) cause signals received at the primary terminals (IN) to be filtered as the signals are passed through the transformer to the secondary terminals (OUT).
