Heat generator with viscous heating fluid for motor vehicles

A viscous fluid is contained between rotor element and a heat generator chamber. The fluid is an electro-rheological fluid. Regulatable electrical conductor units (8-11) connect electricity to the fluid, for adjustable variation of the effective fluid viscosity. The conductors are connected to a voltage supply (12). The fluid may be a silicone oil, forming a dispersion medium, in which aluminium silica gel as a dispersed phase, is suspended. The electrical conductors are a pair of plate-shaped electrode elements, positioned opposite to each other in the heat generator chamber (7a).
