<p>The heat exchanger consists of a tubular manifold (10) with a series of apertures (14) for linking tubes (34), and a fixing lug (26). The lug is fitted into a lengthwise slit (16) in the tube by a lengthwise core (24) of appropriate thickness and length and is brazed in place. Its core extends inside the tube towards the linking tube apertures and along virtually the whole length of the tube. The manifold is made from a rolled metal strip with its lengthwise edges positioned to form the slit for the fixing lug, the core of which can be shaped to receive at least one partition fitted across the manifold. The lug and its core can be cut from sheet metal, moulded or extruded.</p> |
