PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of always fixing a projection image position by providing a light source, a spatial modulation element, a first optical element and a second optical element. SOLUTION: The light outgoing from a lamp 10 transmits through only an area corresponding to an observational position by a white/black liquid crystal panel 11. The light transmitting through the panel 11 is made incident on a micro-lens cell 12a corresponding to the transmitted pixel. The lens cell 12a coverts parallel light to scattered light, and the liquid crystal panel 8 is irradiated by the uniform light. A convex lens 13 expands a converged point (light source) by a virtual image to convert an apparnent light source position. That is, the lens cell 12 scatters the light transmitting through the panel 11 to reduce luminance unevenness on a display surface (convex lens 9). Then, an image projected on the convex lens 9 is formed on either of the right eye or the left eye of an observer by the convex lens 9 on the observational position corresponding to the transmission area of the light on the panel 11. Thus, the projection image position on the convex lens 9, that is, a projection screen is fixed. |
