<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make smoothing treatment of the surfaces of insulating materials by covering the surfaces of exposed cable insulating materials with thermal contraction tubes before unbridged polyethylene materials are extruded, and removing the thermal contraction tubes after they are heated and contracted. SOLUTION: The ends of two cables 1 and 1 are each peeled off, the surfaces of cable insulating materials 3 and 3 and conductors are exposed, and after they are compressibly connected with a conductor joint pipe 4, a semiconductive tape is used to form an inner semiconductive layer 5 on the conductor joint pipe 4. Then, previously inserted thermal contraction tubes 9 and 9 are provided so as to cover the surfaces of the cable insulating materials 3 and 3 from a penciling shoulder section 10, and after they are heated and contracted, the thermal contraction tubes 9 and 9 are removed, and then, after reinforced insulating materials are formed by extrusion of unbridged polyethlene materials, at high temperature and high pressure, layers are bridged and are welded. Accordingly, the surfaces of the cable insulating materials 3 and 3 are smoothed, and a high quality of molding joint section can be obtained.</p> |
