PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the photosensitive material to retain high contrast photographic performance even in the case of processing using a developer in a pH of <11.0 and to be handled in a light room for a long time by incorporating plural respective specified compounds in this material. SOLUTION: This photosensitive material has a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer having a silver chloride content of >=90mol% and an average grain diameter of <=0.1μm and containing a water-soluble rhodium salt in an amount of 1×10<-6> -2×10<-4> mol/mol of silver halide and a compound represented by formula I or a polymer having repeating units each represented by formula II and a compound represented by formula III, and in formulae I-III, each of R<11> -R<13> is an alkyl or aryl group or the like; (t) is an integer; Y1 is a (t)-valent organic group combining through a carbon atom with the P atom; (u) is 1, 2, or 3; x1 is an (u)-valent anion; each of R<21> -R<23> is an alkyl or alkenyl group or the like; X2 is an anion; Y2 is a bonding group; each of A1 and A2 is an H atom at the same time or one is an H atom and the other is a sulfonyl group or the like; R1 is an aliphatic or aromatic group or the like; L is a divalent organic group; G1 is a carbonl group or the like; and R2 is an aliphatic or amino group or the like.
